If you have pets and either have or thinking of getting Artificial Grass, you may be thinking or may not even know yet. But it's going to be a nightmare with the dreaded wee wee smells.
BUT we have a tried and tested solution, this has been tried and tested on our own garden by our own sweet little pup.
After 2 years of struggling and trying everything under the sun. Hours of searching for new tricks and tips. I finally stumbled across a forum were a few people were discussing the very same issue.
After thinking yet another option to try...will it work?? who knew!! All we knew was we have tried so many things and nothing worked for more than a few hours 2 days at best. But as ever anything is worth a go. So we took the plunge and ........
By Joe....we cracked it.....!!!
So what did we do, and what will you need????

What you need
Sodium Bicarbonate or Baking soda
Approx 4kg per 24m2 area (4mx6m garden).
You may need more or less depending on how bad the smell is or if you are dong for the first time vs after you have done a few times.
White vinegar or Cleaning vinegar
5l bottle
This will last approx 5-6 goes, depending on the how bad the smell, I have used both white and also a cleaning vinegar that has a lemon smell.
A Hose
A Watering can with sprinkle attachment.
A Stiff Brush

Step 1
For safety - test a small area with the powder and vinegar leaving to see for any permanent stains.
Ours was totally fine but always worth a check to be 100%.
Step 2
Wet down the grass with a hose or even after it has rained, no matter which as long as its wet.
Step 3
Wet down the grass with a hose or even after it has rained, no matter which as long as its wet.
Step 4
Sprinkle over the Baking Soda covering the whole area or just effected the areas if known.
Step 5
Using the Stiff brush, just brush in the Baking soda, just insuring your covering the areas and getting in-between the blades of grass, this step also helps move the Baking soda around so you don't miss any areas by just sprinkling. You will still see results without this step. but we found best results by doing this.
Leave at very least a good few hours, best result leave for 24hrs.
**NOW don't panic if the grass goes brown / white or off colour. This will wash off (as long as you done your safety checks). We tested this on our safety check and it Showed more of a brown where the wee had been and then washed off perfectly)
Step 6
Hose down, you may want to use a good fast setting, or for best results use a jet wash. You may also find you may have to do this a couple of times more once the grassed has dried off, just to get all the Baking soda off. Just depends on how much you have used. And yo may want to give it another good brushing off if you don't have a jet wash to hand.
Step 6
This step is optional, we just found better results by dong this. Fill watering can with 1 part vinegar and then 3 parts water. and using the sprinkle attachment, go over the grass.
This will then need to be redone as and when you start to smell again. we typically do it every 4 weeks, more or less in the summer months. Just needed as and when.
This has been bar FAR... the best solution we have ever used personally, and a Bruce bonus that it docent break the bank. If you have any tips that have worked for you please please do let us know, love to hear what works for you.
P.s You can by large 5kg/10kg/20kg of Sodium Bicarbonate or Baking soda its the same thing. Off Amazon. As well as large 5l bottles of vinegar.
